You can see his animals are part of his family and right at home, too. Thank you, Mr Faudree, for sharing your artist's eye with us. Faudree's books are always a feast for the eyes. I look forward to many more books.
Having said that though a little disappointed in this one. not his best work. I loved Charles Faudree last interior design book and think he is one my best loved designers,this is the 3rd book I've bought. Too many plates on the walls.
Most of the interiors seem contrived, stuffy, and a little outdated. Skip this one. I have all of his books, and am a big fan.but something is "off" about this one. The warmth and charm of the usual "Faudree mix" has been, for the most part, replaced with rooms that have all the banal originality and personality of a hotel lobby or furniture showroom.
I have all of Charles Faudrees design books, I am never disappointed. This is a great book, lots of photos and great ideas. I loved seeing his home featured on " Home Acress America".
I find myself picking it up again and again. And, as always, his beloved dog is in many of the room photos - not because he was placed there but because he loves to be in the thick of things. I found this book to be exactly on par with Charles Faudree's earlier books - his use of saturated color, grand rooms with a charming and cozy feel, lucious fabrics, accessories of beauty and occasional whimsy - all his signature work is there. Gorgeous photography as always and I love the shots of rooms from above and the format of 'sketches' of rooms preceding the actual photos. If you have enjoyed Charle's previous books, you will love this one too.
